Our living space. Our responsibility.
Sustainability strategy until 2034
For us, sustainability is more than just a goal – it is an attitude. It shapes our daily actions as well as our corporate management, our market development and our social interaction. Deeply rooted in our corporate philosophy, we understand sustainability as a continuous process that takes responsibility for the environment, society and the future.
With our integrative sustainability strategy for the period up to 2034, we are consolidating our existing commitments and creating transparency for all interested parties. The strategy serves as a guideline for reviewing and further developing our practices and making them more sustainable in a targeted manner – always with a view to long-term sustainability.
We are guided by the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the global action plan for sustainable development to which 193 countries have committed themselves. Over the next ten years, we will place a clear focus on 9 of these 17 goals, without losing sight of the others. Our commitment covers the areas of One Health as well as ecological, economic and social responsibility.

Sustainable by conviction – since our foundation.
We are already living this today
At SaluVet, sustainability is not a vision, but a reality that we have been living since our foundation. Our actions are guided by salutogenesis, the ‘creation of health’. We promote animal health in a natural way, thereby contributing to healthy food, healthy people and an intact environment.

Healing naturally – acting sustainably
Our products are based on high-quality, natural, and well-tolerated substances. They support animal health through prevention and treatment – in harmony with people and nature.
For us, sustainable agriculture means being economically sensible, socially responsible, and resource-efficient. We protect the climate, soil, water, and biodiversity – today and for future generations.
Environmentally conscious in all areas
Environmental responsibility is firmly anchored in our corporate culture. We have been EMAS-certified since 1996 and are continuously improving our environmental performance.
This is how we implement sustainability in our everyday work:
- Energy: Our own photovoltaic systems, 100% green electricity, four electric charging stations.
- Raw materials: Sustainable, GMO-free, and increasingly organic.
- Packaging & shipping: Reduction, recyclability, PEFC-certified materials.
- Buildings & operations: Eco-friendly construction, LED lighting, gray water utilization, sustainable furnishings.
- Mobility: Promotion of e-mobility, JobRad, and public transportation subsidies.
- Biodiversity: Medicinal plant garden, green roofs, plant-based product development.
Responsible business practices
As a subsidiary of the WALA Foundation, we operate independently of investors and focus on long-term, meaningful corporate development.
Our profits are reinvested in the company or shared with all employees. We cultivate fair partnerships, favor regional supply chains, and thus ensure sustainable growth—both nationally and internationally.
Quality and safety
Our integrated management system (IMS) combines quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety, data protection, and fire safety.
This enables us to guarantee the highest standards, identify potential for improvement at an early stage, and promote sustainable value creation in all processes.
Together in the “Sustainability Forum”
All employees are welcome to actively promote sustainability issues in the “Sustainability Forum.” Trainees and students are deliberately involved, and together we anchor the relevant topics in the company’s activities.
Reviews
Research, education and responsibility
We contribute to reducing antibiotic resistance (AMR) with natural prophylaxis and therapy concepts.
Through the SaluVet Academy, we share our knowledge, promote sustainable animal husbandry and raise awareness among veterinarians, farmers and employees about responsible behaviour.
Social responsibility and corporate culture
We are firmly rooted in the Bad Waldsee region and are committed to agriculture, the environment, science, social issues, and culture.
We support local educational projects, associations, and initiatives and promote active cooperation.
We also practice sustainability internally:
- Flexible working hours and mobile working
- Ergonomic, sustainable workplaces
- Organic catering and healthy Wednesday breakfasts
- Fitness programs, excursions, and departmental events
- SaluVet marketplace for sustainable consumption
Our dialogical corporate culture (DUK) stands for mutual respect, personal responsibility, and cooperation on an equal footing—so that many employees become “entrepreneurs within the company.”

Outlook – Our path to 2034
By 2034, we want to consistently develop and measurably strengthen our sustainability. Based on our existing sustainability foundation, we are pursuing a clear, proven and long-term strategy. Our goal: SaluVet should become even more sustainable, transparent and future-proof in all areas.
Our goal for 2034:
SaluVet has developed noticeably in all key areas – economically, ecologically and socially. Sustainability is then not only part of our identity, but also a visible, verifiable corporate standard.
By 2034, we want to have achieved the following:
We have clearly defined the key sustainability issues and taken them into account in all decisions.
Our processes and products have been further developed towards a circular economy and resource conservation – with noticeable and, where possible, measurable progress.
We have continuously evaluated and optimised the sustainability of our practices.
Investments in research to further reduce the release of harmful residues into the environment.
Sustainability firmly anchored in knowledge transfer and corporate communications.
Visible nationwide as a sustainable company – with measures that are anchored in everyday life beyond specific projects.
Financial independence to act responsibly and meaningfully in the long term.
