Imaginative and with creative imagery, the film turns its viewers into empowered eaters who won’t be fobbed off with the same old supermarket fare.
Few things on earth are as precious and vital as seeds. Revered and valued since the beginning of mankind, the seeds of our cultivated plants are the source of almost all life. They nourish and heal us and provide raw materials for our everyday lives. But this most precious of resources is under threat: more than 90 per cent of all seed varieties have already disappeared. Biotech corporations like Syngenta and Bayer/Monsanto have long controlled the global seed market with genetically modified plants. Therefore, more and more passionate farmers, scientists, lawyers and indigenous seed owners are fighting like David against Goliath for the future of variety diversity.
