SaluVet celebrates its 10th birthday
Last Wednesday, SaluVet GmbH in Bad Waldsee celebrated its tenth birthday. With its striking, round production and modern administration building, the company is one of the heavyweights between Stahlstrasse and Steinstrasse.
A cheerful queue of people lines up in front of a snack trolley. Hard-working hands bake crispy organic pizzas in piecework. Vegan, with ham and salami, with and without spicy pepperoncini – whatever your heart desires. The pizzas are eaten with appetite at many round tables, two large fridges keep drinks with and without alcohol ready. The atmosphere is relaxed, the conversation cheerful. After a long day of presentations, it’s simply a great way to end the day with a party.
The company history briefly summarised
SaluVet is the merger of the companies Dr Schaette GmbH and PlantaVet GmbH. Dr Schaette was founded in Munich in 1919, moved to Rossberg and then relocated to Bad Waldsee. Dr Schaette produces herbal and homeopathic remedies and care products mainly for cattle and sells them directly to farmers with a powerful sales force.
Dr Schaette founded the subsidiary PlantaVet, which has its own product portfolio aimed at vets who want to treat small and large animals with natural alternatives to the ‘chemical clubs’. PlantaVet’s product portfolio also includes many valuable remedies from WALA. WALA, in turn, is known as the manufacturer of Dr. Hauschka cosmetics. In turn, many of the basic essences for the natural Dr. Hauschka cosmetics are produced in the round production building.
In order to better combine the strengths of the two companies Dr Schaette and PlantaVet and to achieve a uniform market approach, especially in export markets, the two companies Dr Schaette and PlantaVet were merged into one company again in 2015.
With this merger, SaluVet can celebrate its tenth anniversary, while the Dr Schaette brands can look back on over 100 years of success and PlantaVet on more than 30 years.
