BPI founds new veterinary medicines department BPIvet

The German Pharmaceutical Industry Association (BPI) today established a new specialist department for veterinary medicines called ‘BPIvet’. In future, manufacturers of veterinary medicines and veterinary medical technology products will have their own forum at the BPI. The new specialist department is organised with its own board and its own rules of procedure. At the constituent general meeting, Dr Sandra Graf-Schiller, member of the BPI Federal Executive Board and Managing Director of SaluVet GmbH, was elected as the new Chair of BPIvet. “With BPIvet, we are not only focusing on the healthcare of a single species, but on the entire healthcare system – and that is unique in Germany. This is because the BPI is the only pharmaceutical association that brings together manufacturers of chemically defined, biotechnologically produced, herbal, homeopathic, anthroposophic human and veterinary medicines and veterinary medical technology products, as well as consulting companies, under one roof. This also makes the BPI the only association in Germany that combines the three cornerstones of “One Health”.”
